Abstract
The article analyzes and classifies the main methods of improving the surface quality of friction pairs. The reliability of the machines is directly related to the quality of the surface layer, which is characterized by geometric and physico-mechanical parameters. The performance properties depend on the quality of the surface layer — wear resistance, corrosion resistance, contact fatigue resistance, etc. The paper presents a comparative analysis of the main methods of increasing the hardness of the surface.
