Abstract
The Maxwell matrix for multiconductor transmission lines can theoretically be determined from measurements. When the measurements are performed with finite accuracy, the measurement errors propagate on the computed Maxwell matrix. Matrix relations for computation of the Maxwell matrix from measurements are presented. These relations are used in the analysis of error propagation. It is shown that the errors in determining the off-diagonal elements can be very large. A numerical example to demonstrate the role of measurement errors in determining the Maxwell matrix is supplied.
