Abstract
The main methods and technologies of energy utilization for ecological buildings based on sustainable development are analyzed and the concept of ecological design is introduced. According to the way sustainable energy is used, ecological buildings can be classified into three types as green houses, biological buildings and self government buildings. Several examples of ecological design for these buildings are presented and discussed, such as passive heating, cooling with solar energy, improving natural ventilation and utilization of wind power, which are helpful to minimize the environmental impact and energy consumption in a sustainable way.
