Abstract

A hybrid projective method based on the method of coupled waves combined with the one-dimensional finite element method is developed for analysis of plane electromagnetic wave scattering from longitudinally non-uniform one-dimensionally periodic dielectric structures with wedge elements arranged on a homogeneous dielectric substrate. Some results characterizing both the effectiveness of the method itself and the properties of the obliquely irradiated absorbing structures with wedge elements using recently developed polyurethane foam materials with ultra-dispersed carbonic fillers are presented and discussed.
