Abstract

Recently, laser welding technologies have been increasingly applied in order to join two parts at a small area with small distortion. In the automobile parts industry, seam welding has been widely required for cylindrical parts. In this application, deformation of dozens of micron after welding sometime gets into trouble. Therefore, the process of deformation in laser welding of cylindrical parts has been expected to be explained. Nevertheless, there are few reports about the analysis of deformation in laser welding of cylindrical parts. This study deals with deformation mechanism through phenomenal and theoretical analysis in order to make the process of deformation in laser welding of cylindrical parts clear.Recently, laser welding technologies have been increasingly applied in order to join two parts at a small area with small distortion.
