Abstract

The dynamic response of laminated angle-ply plates with the clamped boundary conditions subjected to explosive blast loading is considered. The free vibration of laminated plates is treated first through the Rayleigh-Ritz method. The natural frequencies are obtained by using a set of simple polynomials as admissible functions. The method of superposition of normal mode is then employed to solve the dynamic response problem. The numerical results show that symmetrically laminated plates produce the least transverse deformation compared to the anti-symmetrically and non-symmetrically stacked plates.
