Abstract

To forecast the life span of dry clutch, analyses of city driving condition spectrum and the wear of the dry clutch under city driving cycle are conducted. Firstly, a theoretical model of shift cycle was established based on statistical method, and a new city driving cycle spectrum in 15 kilometers was built. Secondly, the wear characteristics of dry friction pair, which is made of Cu-based powder metallurgy and 65Mn, were analyzed. Afterwards, a dynamic shift model and a heat transfer model were established. Finally, the temperature rising and wear of clutch could be forecasted. Concluding that when vehicle works under the built city driving cycle spectrum for 78 thousand kilometers, the wear of friction pair reaches to its prescribed wear limitation.
