Abstract

Abstract Performance of secondary cooling zone rollers manufactured by «VAI FUCHS» and installed on the mould have been examined to determine such factors as the influence of the design of the mold foot rollers on the parameters of the billet. Calculations confirming the feasibility of the proposed solution have been made. The values of the bending moments and shear forces of the three-roller assembly are lower and fluctuate within 10%, which, if used, can reduce the likelihood of ingot bleeding and, consequently, can lead to an increase in the performance of the continuous casting machine.
