Abstract

On the basis of the T-S fuzzy model, this paper discusses the following three problems: the fuzzy reduced-dimensional observer; the general structure of the fuzzy observer; the fuzzy functional observer, for both the continuous and discrete case, respectively. The separation property, that is, the fuzzy controller and the fuzzy observer can be independently designed, is also addressed. The numerical simulation and the experiment on an inverted pendulum system are given to illustrate the soundness of these results.
