Abstract

This study analyses the participation of institutions and other stakeholders to the development of the local communities of Mezam Division. Methods: A field survey was conducted in some villages in the division such as Awing, Akum, Mankon, Bamendankwe, Nkwen and Bafut where primary data was collected from the local population on the identification and role of institutions participating in the development of their communities. This exercise was carried out with the use of semi structured interview guide to some resource persons like mayors, Fons, quarter heads, some elites from whom more data on stakeholders’ participation was gathered. Results: There is a rich institutional framework for local development in Mezam Division. Multiple institutions participate in local development in Mezam Division.
