Abstract
A complete first and second law analyses are applied to a typical combined cycle power plant using different working fluids in the bottoming Rankine cycle. The working fluids were chosen from the literature. Out of all the working fluids chosen, steam gave maximum first-law efficiency, second-law efficiency, and net work done and minimum exergy destruction for entire combined cycle power plant.
