Abstract

To evaluating the characteristics of the swimmers propulsion in breaststroke, the hydrodynamic pressures and depressions were measured at level of the propulsive supports by means of 8 sensors, fixed on the palmar and dorsal sides of the hands (4 sensors) and on the plantar and dorsal sides of the feet (4 sensors). The forces exerted on the water by the propulsive actions were recorded on the computer. The data analysis applied to elite swimmers in breaststroke showed the multiplicity and accuracy of informations. This original study was to work on the relation between hydrodynamic forces of propulsive supports.
