Abstract

The study of the transmission mechanisms of infectious diseases is integrated into the curriculum of Compulsory Secondary Education and Baccalaureate. The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has led to important changes in our lives, aimed at protection and hygiene against the virus. This communication presents a simple experience to demonstrate the chain of trans- mission of the coronavirus, from a possible asymptomatic to a healthy person, by means of a recreational scientific experiment. The proposed work model uses a didactic analogy based on a simple acid-base chemical reaction, allowing the teacher to make students think, as well as to speak and act with rigor and depth, thereby making it possible for the students to better understand the transmission of this type of respiratory virus.
