Abstract

Analog signal processors have received increasing attention in the past few years thanks to the advances in fabrication technologies permitting better control of device characteristics and to the explosive growth in neural networks. While digital processors still dominate design applications, new problems in neural signal processing, pattern recognition, and image processing lend themselves quite nicely to analog implementations, and quite a few case studies, especially those in neural networks, have demonstrated the superiority of analog signal processing circuits and systems.
