Abstract

This study aims to obtain the level of student’s problem solving skills of Eleventh-grade student of senior high school on Biodiversity Materials. This study was descriptive research. The subject of this study were 36 students of class XI MIPA 1 SMAN 2 Makassar in the academic year 2022/2023. Data collection using test instruments in the form of Essay questions totaling 4 items in which included five indicators consisting of formulating the problem, making hypothesis, testing hypothesis, taking conclusion, and implementating conclution. According to the achievement of students in each indicator, formulating the problems were 53.1% in the medium category, making hypothesis were 50% in the high category, testing hypotheses were 56,30% in the high category, taking conclusions were 71.9%, in high category, and applying conclusions were 50% in the high category. The results showed that the level of problem solving skills in students was in the high category.
