Abstract

Several previous studies proved that video-based learning media could improve learning achievement and motivation of students. This research aimed at describing the use of Creation Facts Video as a learning medium for Islamic Religious Education and depicting the benefits to the learners. This survey research took the subjects of the first semester students joining the course of Religion Education at English Education Department. The data were collected through the instruments of questionnaire, observation, and documentation which were then analyzed by interactive method. The results of research demonstrated that in general, all students responded positively the use of video as a medium in learning Islamic Religious Education and considered that it was beneficial for them. Accordingly, this learning medium could be deemed by other lecturers for teaching Islamic Religious Education in the future. The following research is also required particularly for measuring the effectiveness of video media against the students’ learning outcomes in the course of Religion Education.
