Abstract

West Kalimantan Province borders directly with neighboring countries such as Malaysia and Brunei Darussalam and has a beautiful natural landscape, is a foundation for the Ministry of Public Works and People's Housing to develop tourism potential areas in West Kalimantan, one of which is Lake Sajingan which is located in Sajingan District, Regency Sambas, West Kalimantan Province. This lake has very clean water and beautiful scenery. Furthermore Selimpai beach in the District of Paloh. The advantage of this beach compared to other beaches is its location which is located on a small island, decorated with pine trees in the middle. Temajuk Beach in Kec. Paloh, around 120 km from Sambas City. This beach is also a place to lay eggs for sea turtles. West Kalimantan Province has several potentials that can be developed into leading sectors, for example the agriculture, mining and quarrying sector, the manufacturing industry, restaurants and hotels, transportation and other services. So there is a need for development planning based on potential development in West Kalimantan. The purpose of this study is to analyze the leading sectors of the Province of West Kalimantan 2014-2017 and analyze the economic sectors that have the potential to be developed to support the economic growth of West Kalimantan Province. This study uses secondary data taken from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of West Kalimantan. Data analysis methods used in this study are Shift Share and Location Quotion. The Location Quotion results show that the leading sectors in the Province of West Kalimantan from 2014 to 2017 were Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, the Information and Communication sector, the Real Estate sector, the Government Administration sector, the Mandatory Social Security and Mandatory Social Security sector and the Health Services and Social Activities sector . While the shift share is known that the entire sector is a potential sector to be developed except the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries sectors.
