Abstract

This study aims to determine the company's financial performance affects stock returns in the food sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The company's financial performance is measured using financial ratios, namely Earning per Share (EPS), Price Earning Ratio (PER), Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), Basic Earning Power (BEP), and Return on Equity (ROE). The population in this study was 19 food sector industry companies that actively listed their shares on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2018-2020, which then determined the research sample of 9 companies with purposive sampling techniques using several predetermined criteria. The data used is secondary data in the form of financial statements and company stock prices, with data analysis techniques, namely multiple linear regression analysis with version 11 of the Eviews Program. The results showed that EPS, PER, DER, BEP, and ROE simultaneously affect stock returns. The test results partially showed that only the PER variable had a positive and significant effect on stock returns in food sector companies. Simultaneously, the EPS, DER, BEP, and ROE variables have a negative and signify execution on food sector companies' stock returns. The company's financial performance, measured by the ratios of EPS, PER, DER, BEP, and ROE, affects the return on shares of food sector companies listed on the Indonesian stock exchange by 27.79%.
