Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the analysis of the use of discovery learning models in improving the ability to solve cube and block word problems in class V SD N 173435 Doloksanggul. This research is a type of quantitative research with a descriptive approach. The population in this study were 1 homeroom teacher of class V and 19 students of class V SD N 173435 Doloksanggul. The sampling technique in this study was a probability sampling technique where each population has the same opportunity to be selected as a sample with certain considerations. The data collection technique used in this research is by using questionnaires, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the use of the discovery learning model in improving the ability to solve cube and block word problems in class V SD N 173435 Doloksanggul is effective and well used in improving students' cube and block story problem solving with a percentage of 52.63%.
