Abstract
This study aims to determine students' critical thinking skills in solving problems in class VIII Islamic Middle School Sunan Giri Wagir. The research method used in this study is a qualitative description. The subjects of this study were class VIII students of SMP Islam Sunan Giri Wagir. The data collection technique used was a written test of critical thinking skills and interviews. The result of this study is that subjects with high critical thinking skills can fulfill all existing indicators, namely indicators of interpretation, analysis, evaluation and inference. Subjects with moderate critical thinking skills can only meet three indicators, namely interpretation, analysis, and evaluation but cannot fulfill the inference indicator. Subjects with low critical thinking skills only met two indicators, namely interpretation and analysis, unable to meet the evaluation and inference indicators.
