Abstract

This study aims to analyze the needs of elementary school students for the development of learning models based on the Case Based Learning in improving students' critical thinking skills. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data was collected through interviews, tests and questionnaires, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model. The subjects of this study were 40 students and a class V teacher. The results of this study indicated that 90% of students were interested in thematic learning associated with everyday life. only 42.5% of students met the KKM for SBdP subjects and 35.9% met the KKM for science subjects on theme 2 sub-theme 1 learning 5. These learning results indicated that the Case Based Learning model applied had not been able to improve students' critical thinking skills.
