Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze textbooks based on research on the subject of Gatul fish embryo animal development. The method in this study uses Hannafin & Peck's (1988) development model at the needs analysis stage. Data collection sourced from observations during learning, giving questionnaires to lecturers and students, and interviews. The results is in general both lecturers and students had not used special textbooks, only using general textbooks (15%) which contained only material without research results, thus increasing monotonous teaching methods by using lecture methods, making papers, and presentations (42%). Students and lecturers agree with the development of animal development textbooks in the research report, practicum guidelines with complete material and clear images.
