Abstract
Denpasar City, with a population density of 5,676 people/km² according to the Bali Central Bureau of Statistics in 2022, experiences traffic problems due to high density. The impact is felt on productivity and the economy, mainly due to traffic accidents. In 2021, Denpasar City recorded 29,205 accidents with 62 fatalities, 37 serious injuries, and 859 minor injuries, emphasizing the urgency of prevention and awareness of safe driving. This study explores the costs borne by victims of traffic accidents in Denpasar City in that year. The unit cost of casualties can be identified, with the cost of fatalities IDR 77,972,976, serious injuries IDR 38,122,739, and minor injuries IDR 6,838,012. The total cost reached Rp. 12,118,718,874.00, with the largest allocation for death victims. In addition, PT Jasa Raharja provided compensation of Rp. 50,000,000 for deaths and serious injuries, and Rp. 20,000,000 for minor injuries. Comparison of the cost of victims with compensation from PT Jasa Raharja shows a deficit of -36% for victims of death, 31% for victims of serious injuries, and 192% for victims of minor injuries. Abstrak Kota Denpasar dengan kepadatan penduduk mencapai 5.676 jiwa/km² menurut Badan Pusat Statistik Bali tahun 2022, mengalami masalah lalu lintas akibat tingginya kepadatan. Dampaknya terasa pada produktivitas dan ekonomi, terutama karena kecelakaan lalu lintas. Pada 2021, Kota Denpasar mencatat 29.205 kecelakaan dengan 62 korban meninggal dunia, 37 luka berat, dan 859 luka ringan, menegaskan urgensi pencegahan dan kesadaran akan keselamatan berkendara. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi biaya yang ditanggung oleh korban kecelakaan lalu lintas di Kota Denpasar pada tahun tersebut. Biaya satuan korban dapat diidentifikasi, dengan biaya untuk korban meninggal dunia Rp. 77.972.976,00, luka berat Rp. 38.122.739,00, dan luka ringan Rp. 6.838.012,00. Total biaya mencapai Rp. 12.118.718.874,00, dengan alokasi terbesar untuk korban meninggal dunia. Selain itu, PT Jasa Raharja memberikan santunan sebesar Rp. 50.000.000,00 untuk korban meninggal dunia dan korban luka berat, serta Rp. 20.000.000,00 untuk korban luka ringan. Perbandingan biaya korban dengan santunan dari PT Jasa Raharja menunjukkan defisit -36% untuk korban meninggal dunia, 31% untuk korban luka berat, dan 192% untuk korban luka ringan.
