Abstract

Anaesthetic management of a microvascular free flap surgery requires a holistic approach from the anaesthesiologist to have a favourable post-operative outcome. We present a case report of the anaesthetic management of a 31 year old male patient undergoing a microvascular free vascularized flap reconstructive surgery. After 16 hours of surgery and general anaesthesia, the patient was promptly reversed with no complications. The free flap remained viable throughout the post-operative period and the patient was discharged home after 15 days.
