Abstract

ABSTRACTRossi X‐Ray Timing Explorer observations of the helium‐rich dwarf nova V803 Cen were conducted throughout an entire outburst cycle of 23 hr. The X‐ray count rate is very low and does not change during the outburst cycle. The X‐ray spectrum is consistent with a 10 keV bremsstrahlung source with a column density of 6 × 1020 cm−2. We compare the X‐ray and optical properties of this system with those of dwarf novae with hydrogen disks.
