Abstract

A dual-output subthreshold CMOS voltage reference (CVR) with ultra-low power consumption and low temperature coefficient (TC) is presented in this paper. The first voltage reference (VR) employs a complementary-to-absolute-temperature (CTAT) voltage, produced by the NMOS with different threshold voltages, and a proportional-to-absolute-temperature (PTAT) voltage, implemented by NMOS with different aspect ratios. The second voltage is generated by a 3.3-V NMOS with a PTAT current. With a standard 0.18-μm CMOS process, the post-simulation shows two voltage references of 578.5 mV and 283.7 mV, with TCs of 31.47 ppm/°C and 16.73 ppm/°C, respectively, for a temperature range of -40°C to 125°C. The power supply ripple rejection (PSRR) of first VR are −72.5dB, −32.6dB, −39.9dB at 10Hz, 1kHz, 1MHz, respectively, and those of the second VR are −73.8dB, −34.5dB, −48.8dB at 10Hz, 1kHz, 1MHz, respectively. The consumed power is 30.5 nW at 27°C and 1.8-V supply voltage.
