Abstract
An ultra wideband patch antenna is presented in which the moment method is used to analyse and optimise a patch antenna, the final optimised patch antenna looking like a cobra snake. It is therefore referred to as ‘cobra patch antenna’. The antenna has an ultra wideband VSWR performance and relatively good gain, no input balun, and is easy and cheap to manufacture. It could be useful in wireless communication, and in EMC and antenna measurements.
