Abstract

One of the efforts to provide dental and oral health services and provide dental and oral health services to the community is to be optimized. Given and considering the development and complexity of dental and oral health problems above, it is anticipated that by increasing knowledge and higher skills, not only being able to handle dental and oral cases, but also having the ability to analyze the causes of disease using science and technology. One branch of science that can accompany science that continues to grow, especially dental health, is philosophy. This study aims to determine the nature of dental and oral health care for children with special needs in terms of ontology, epistemology and axiology. The method in this study is a philosophical study with literature studies. Based on the explanation of the understanding of dental health care for children with special needs, it is clear that the study has three dimensions, namely based on ontology, epistemology, and axiology. Philosophy in dental and oral health care for children with special needs is an action taken to seek, review , observing and investigating any problems or events that occur in children with dental needs that are included in the scope of dental health.
