Abstract

Consider the huge economic losses from large power blackouts, how to quickly and effectively restore loads becomes particularly significant. In this paper, a formulation for the load restoration is proposed and discussed to find the load recovery sequence and restore system quickly with consideration of the impacts of renewable energy resources (RERs) integration on the process of load restoration. The proposed load restoration model involves load importance and the distance between load and RERs. And a coefficient is introduced to adjust the level of balance between the importance and the distance according to different requirements. In addition, the frequency factor is considered during optimization. Finally, the greedy algorithm is employed to solve the proposed model based on the IEEE standard test system as benchmark, and the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness and validity of the proposed model and method.
