Abstract
Vibration signals are usually used to monitor friction fault between stator and rotor of steam turbine in fossil-fuel power plant indirectly, and the effect is not ideal due to the limitation of vibration meter and heavy mass of rotor. The reason why vibration signals can not monitor friction fault between stator and rotor of steam turbine is analyzed in this paper in theory. A method of monitoring friction fault between stator and rotor of steam turbine based on acoustic emission (AE) technology is supposed. An online monitoring system of friction fault for steam turbine is designed. It is shown that the monitoring system can measure friction fault between stator and rotor of steam turbine effectively and accurately and improve the reliability of steam turbine.
