Abstract

An apparatus and corresponding software for optimization of photon beams during the beam development phase and for monitoring during experiments is described. The system consists of a scintillator positioned in the beam, an image intensifier and a highly sensitive CCD camera. The CCD camera is read out and controlled by a PC via a frame-grabber card. Software control of the camera and a graphical interface have been developed. The intensity as well as the position of the beam can be constantly supervised online.
