Abstract
After analyzing the features and requirements of automatic test systems, the object model and dynamic model of the test systems are presented, which are described with the unified modeling language (UML). Thus, an object-oriented framework comes into being for assisting in the development of automatic test systems. In contrast to the conventionally function-based representation model, this framework can not only describe test systems more soundly, but also achieve higher productivity, better reusability, maintainability and extendability. This framework can serve as both a modeling foundation and a practical tool for description, analysis and design of automatic test systems, and, particularly for computer aided analysis and design of test systems. Based on this reusable and extendable framework, the software development efficiency for automatic test systems can be largely improved.
