Abstract

The thermal cycling behavior of β-(Ni,Pt)Al coatings covered on two different superalloys (one without Ru and one with additional Ru) was investigated at 1150 °C. The results showed that a few β to γ′ phase transitions caused a slight rumpling of β-(Ni,Pt)Al coating on the superalloy doped with Ru. Ru in the superalloy entered the β phase of coating by diffusion and inhibited the diffusion of Al, thereby postponing the transition of the β phase and the subsequent rumpling of the coating.
