Any textbook which is orientated towards electronic devices is a welcome addition to the current literature in view of the fact that the topic is becoming more common in undergraduate courses particularly those in electronic engineering. In the book under review the authors state that it is their aim to provide an introduction to the subject of physical electronics at the level of 2nd and 3rd year undergraduate courses in electronic engineering but unfortunately in some rather important aspects it has fallen short of this aim.
