He earned his PhD in information systems from University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During 2006-2007 and 2008-2009, he received funding from the Government of Pakistan to conduct research on information communication technologies (ICT) based socio-economic development in Pakistan. His areas of interest include ICT for development, hospitality information technology, privacy and security, knowledge management and electronic government. His work has appeared in the Communications of the Association for Information Systems, Journal of Knowledge Management and Economic Insight.
