Abstract
Abstract The mathematically oriented on-line computer system originally developed by Dr. Glen J. Culler is currently implemented on large IBM 360 installations. This capability is employed from remote on-line graphic consoles to a variety of engineering problems in which an “experimental approach” to problem solving is required. Several illustrative examples are used, such as the modeling and analysis of an automobile skid control system, to demonstrate the features of on-line computing including graphic input of typical engineering data, remote access to batch computing, and the transfer of data created on-line to batch and vice versa.
