Abstract
A household freezer was converted to an inexpensive incubator by incorporating a heating system and a controller unit. The temperature was automatically varied sinusoidally over a 24-h cycle or maintained at a constant level. Cost, excluding labor, was $400.The specifications are maximum and minimum temperatures, 38 and −21 °C; maximum and minimum ranges of the sinusoidal temperature, 22 and 4 °C; accuracy, ± 0.5 °C.
