Abstract

A simple system for live stroboscopic holographic interferometry is described. Particular attention is given to the light-saving techniques made necessary by the low-cost and therefore relatively weak lasers available. Time-averaged and stroboscopic methods are discussed, and a simple stroboscopic system is described. Finally, some techniques for altering the basic sensitivity of the method and for its application to the analysis of plate vibrations are briefly outlined.
