Abstract
The possibility of using supercapacitors as energy storage units in the widely used frequency-controlled electric drives is considered. The results of modeling and experimental investigations of an electric drive with a capacitive energy storage unit are shown, and an evaluation of the energy efficiency of the storage unit is given.
