Abstract

Most of high-rate space-time block code (STBC), which can achieve full diversity, is based on maximum-likelihood (ML) decoding at the receiver in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. However, the maximum-likelihood (ML) decoding usually computationally complex. Meanwhile, Orthogonal space-time block code (OSTBC) can achieve full diversity and linear complexity of maximum-likelihood (ML) decoding, but OSTBC have a low-rate for the orthogonal of the code structure. In order to improve the code rate while achieving full diversity with linear receivers. In this paper, an improved space-time block code scheme of achieving high-rate full-diversity with zero-forcing (ZF) or minimum mean square error (MMSE) receivers is proposed. The scheme was constructed by embedding Golden codes into a Toeplitz matrix. The new codes are close to orthogonal while their code rate reach high. Simulation results show that in comparison with the Toeplitz codes, Golden codes scheme can get a better performance, at the same time has a higher rate.
