Abstract

An implicit folding procedure for the extraction of isoscalar transition rates from inelastic hadron scattering is presented. Its application to medium energy α- and 6Li-scattering removes previous discrepancies with electromagnetic values resulting from the use of the Bernstein procedure. The success is due to an improved treatment of the finite range of the projectile-nucleon interaction.
