Abstract
An image tracing processor, operated in combination with Bitmap-IV CAD and an extended memory bank, has been developed for broad feature analysis of binarized images on a bitmap plane. Broad 7 × 7 windows on the bitmap and threshold maps are applied to CMOS variable threshold logic (VTL), in order to perform an adaptive algorithm for tracing lines of the binarized image on the bitmap. The hardware was implemented on a breadboard and a CMOS LSI chip was designed. The tracing processor was applied to logic diagram recognition and its concept and performance were confirmed.
