Abstract
This is a convocation address presented on Apr. 29, 1968, at Washington University, St. Louis, Missouri. The occasion was a memorial ceremony marking the founding of AWWA and held in conjunction with the Missouri Section Meeting. Abel Wolman pays tribute to the founding members of AWWA by envisioning the future of AWWA. Wolman provides statistical evidence of progress since 1881, and discusses topics including water resources management, water quality, controlled reuse, utility management, sources of funding, skilled personnel, seawater desalination, and water supply for developing countries.
