Abstract

Attempts at treating psychopathic offenders. in correctional institutions have generally met with frustration and failure. Re search with this type of individual has suggested a different approach, one which is action-oriented and employs non-verbal techniques. To test the efficacy of this approach a demonstration project was conducted at the National Training School for Boys. Comparisons between this program and the regular institution counseling approach support the de-emphasizing of verbal ther apy in favor of novel and exciting activities to more effectively manage the psychopath.
