Abstract

There are often assumptions made by those working on college campuses that differences exist to varying degrees between the operation, function, and purposes of Greek organizations. Research has concluded a difference in the moral development of Greek students and non-Greek students (Maloney, 1990; Kilgannon & Erwin, 1992; Tripp, 1997; Stanford, 1992; Maisel, 1990). Little attention has been given to factors such that may interact with perceived differences in moral development. This study seeks to examine the role of race and autonomy level as possible intervening variables in moral orientation of Greek and non-Greek members.
