Abstract
Business incubators offer a secure environment for both emerging and established firms. They accomplish this by providing diverse shared services to minimise the probability of start-up failures. However, while performing their duties, they also encounter many challenges. This research aimed to assess the efficacy of business incubators. This paper was compiled using a descriptive literature review. A descriptive literature review is a systematic method that aims to locate, gather, and assess published works within a particular field to detect any noticeable patterns or trends. It is recommended that the South African government and its agencies prioritise assisting business incubation programmes. This assistance can effectively nurture entrepreneurship, which is vital for tackling problems such as poverty, decelerating growth in the economy, and unemployment in the nation.
