Abstract
The paper reviews the lighting requirements, present and new, for a properly lit modern electronic office, considering four criteria: footcandles, paper-based task, visibility as determined by ESI visual comfort probability and potential VDI glare. The author states that few lighting systems will meet these four criteria and each criterion is important to the overall design, so none may be ignored.
