Abstract
Brackish water desalination and brine recycling by vapor compression with reduction in costs due to a potable water quality of 100 mg/l instead of 500 mg/l TDS are discussed. A combined R/O-V/C advanced treatment for secondary treated wastewater and re-use of about 97 % of effluent in unrestricted irrigation or for possible aquifer recharge is also discussed.
