Abstract

Biology is a very important course for Student Selection Examination (OSS) and in high school curriculums. Aim of this study is to evaluate biology course in respect of OSS questions and high school curriculums. In the scope of this funda- mental aim, the following detailed aims were included: To determine the significance of biology course in the other programs in high school programs, to analyze the content in view of subjects in the classroom level, aims and behaviours. More- over, it is aimed to determine the distribution of 2001-2005 OSS questions to the years and the subjects. The present study is a survey to claim the relationships be- tween OSS questions and the content of biology course in high school programs. First, the significance of biology course in high school programs was determined for all the subjects aims, behaviours in categorical way. Then, the density and the distri- bution of OSS questions belonging to 2001 – 2005 years were determined a cate- gorical analysis on the subjects was realized. At the end of study, it is observed that there are some problems on “content validity” of OSS and curriculum of biology course in high school.
