An Efficient One-Pot Synthesis of Novel Ethyl 2-((1H-Benzo[d]imidazol-2-ylamino)(Aryl)methylthio) Acetates Using Ni(NO3)2.6H2O, as a Homogeneous Catalyst

Abstract

A one-pot multicomponent reaction of aldehydes, 2-amino benzimidazole and ethyl 2-mercaptoacetate is described as an efficient method for the synthesis of novel ethyl 2-((1H-benzo[d]imidazol-2-ylamino)(Aryl)methylthio)acetates in the presence of Ni(NO 3 ) 2 .6H 2 O as a homogeneous catalyst at room temperature. The present procedure offers several advantages, such as high yields, short reaction times and very easy workup.
